Thanksgiving Yoga

No matter what has happened in the past year, we all have something to be grateful for. With our world upended, practicing gratitude has never been so important. Here are a selection of online (and one in-person) practices to help you connect with gratitude this Thanksgiving.

Turkey Lurkey – A Yoga Cider Workshop
Mind the Mat Pilates & Yoga

Join Mind the Mat co-owner Sara VanderGoot for this fun and celebratory flow yoga class focused on heat building and creative “bird” poses. Get ready to make your best gobble gobble impression and move to an upbeat and energetic playlist. Enjoy a cider (non-alcoholic available) with your class mates afterwards outside in a heated outdoor open air tent that is safe and set up for comfortable social distance. Bring your favorite seasonal treat that’s easy for your fellow yogis to grab a bite of.

Opening to Gratitude

In this season of giving thanks, join Yoga Home co-founder, Kerri Hanlon, for a special class dedicated to cultivating gratitude in our lives. This extended practice will include a grounding and heart opening flow, time for reflection, and extended guided meditation. Appropriate for all levels, from beginners to more advanced practitioners, this class will bring you fully into the spirit of Thanksgiving. Asana portion of class will be recorded, available for 1 week following live session.

Giving on Thanksgiving – Mixed Level Yoga Donation Workshop
The Yoga Center of Columbia

This workshop is donation based to benefit The Howard County Food Bank.
Register in advance and participate from the privacy and convenience of your home. These will be live-streamed via Zoom. When you register, you will be asked to make a donation of your choice. You will receive an email with a Zoom link and instructions.

Thanksgiving Day Flow
November 26, 10:00AM – 11:00AM

Enjoy a special livestream Thanksgiving Day class to energize and restore mind, body, and spirit by showing appreciation to ourselves on the mat. Move through a flow to enliven your body with the intent of cultivating gratitude for the here and now. End the practice with yin postures to help renew connection with your innermost self so you can step into the day with a full heart. All levels welcome.

Thanksgiving Mixed Level Yoga Workshop to Benefit the Howard Co. Food Bank

Thanksgiving is something that should be celebrated every day. Gratitude can never be expressed enough. Gratitude, happiness, and kindness go hand-in-hand. Life can never be infused with enough of any of them. Gratitude is self supplying, if one chooses it to be. There is always something to be grateful for, which in turn creates happiness. This Thanksgiving, join me for a nourishing donation-based practice. Let’s allow the ripples of our practice nourish us and many others in need. May your Thanksgiving be perpetual, filling your life with joy and meaning.
