The pelvic floor:
Not only the seat of the root chakra and the center of life force energy, it is a powerful stabilizer of our pelvis and hips, and forms the floor of our deep core, which is integral in managing intra-abdominal pressure.

Join Catherine Apicella, Professional Yoga Therapist and Certified Pelvic Health Physical Therapist, for a 6-week series exploring the pelvic floor through yoga. Learn about the important relationship between the pelvic floor and the other muscles of the deep core, especially the diaphragm; discover ways to find and accurately activate (and RELAX) your pelvic floor muscles; and learn how to integrate your pelvic floor into a yoga practice that emphasizes proper spinal alignment and core strengthening. Class will also include some education about common pelvic floor dysfunctions.
