Yoga for Emotional Support (YES) Teacher Training (30 hours -CEC’s)

If you are a Yoga teacher interested in sharing your time, talents and care for others, then the Yoga for Emotional Support (YES) Teacher Training course is for you. The purpose of YES is to help people to find health, peace and happiness in their lives using a variety of yoga techniques including Yoga asanas, breathing, meditation, visualizations, mindfulness practices, restorative postures, chakras, sound therapy and aromatherapy, affirmations, energy work, mantras and much more.

As a teacher of YES Classes, you will provide the participants a safe space in which to relax and let go. You will learn ways to provide messages of self-care and nurturing with the use of numerous proven tools and techniques. You will facilitate in helping the students to feel empowered to take care of themselves when faced with difficult emotional situations such as grief, trauma, anxiety, depression and everyday stressors.

The YES Teacher Training includes a Teacher Manual with all the tools you need to teach an effective class. Each class is divided into 9 sections beginning with a group circle of letting go, gratitude and inviting in positive energy and then moving through each of the nine sections of Restorative postures, yoga asana and techniques and then closing with a burning or dissolving ritual of what they wish to let go of and inviting in messages of empowerment.

Here is what you will receive in this training:
*Learn to guide a class through five themed Yoga classes for a variety of emotional needs
Energizing -to help with depression,
Heart Opening -for kindness,
Relaxation – for relieving anxiety and stress,
Clarity -for concentration and focus
Breathing – for calming the mind and body and for everyday stresses}
* Learn the class format including guidelines, transitions, and rituals
* Learn the importance of skilled listening and empathy
* Practice mindfulness techniques designed specifically for this demographic
* Learn restorative yoga postures and their benefits
* Learn and use specific guided breathing techniques, meditation and visualization
* Work with essential oils to learn which are best for which emotions and situations
* Offer mantras with positive messages of self care to help students drop their old stories and create new ones for self love and thriving in life
* Learn to assist and support the students to work towards healthier relationships with themselves and their loved ones
* Give tools and strategies to empower participants to thrive in life
* Certification to teach YES Classes in your community

The Training will be over 2 weekends and may be taken virtually (through Zoom) or in person at Liberty Yoga in Newark (if we are back to social togetherness by then! 🙂
You may choose which one you prefer.
