The Ever Widening Heart: Exploring Grief

July 25, 2020 @ 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM

The Ever Widening Heart: Exploring Grief
with Kellie Finn
Sat, July 25, 2:00-3:00pm

In the 1983 poem, “Blackwater Woods,” Mary Oliver concludes: To live in this world you must be able to do three things: to love what is mortal; to hold it against your bones knowing your own life depends on it; and, when the time comes to let it go, to let it go. The poetry of this living process is inspiring, but each of us knows intimately that though letting go sounds innocent in words, it can be excruciating in experience. And what happens when those endings start to pile up, or we get walloped by a particularly large loss? How do we stay open hearted when our hearts feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or broken? In this workshop we will look at the elements of grief, how to work with it on the mat, what practices we might weave into our daily living to help support the necessary expression of this emotion, and ways to relate to grief so it expands, rather than shrinks, the availability of our hearts to life.

This workshop will be offered on Zoom. Registrants will receive the Zoom link and password 24 hours prior to the scheduled workshop start time. If you register within 24 hours of the workshop, we’ll send the Zoom link shortly after we receive your registration. Registration closes 10 minutes before the workshop begins. Workshops are not recorded, so be sure to join us for the live event! Questions? Email zoom@circleyoga.com.
