Sound Medicine Journey for the New Year at East Meets West Yoga Center
7:30 to 9:30 PM
Celebrate the New Year with a night of ritual, intention, and Sound Medicine! As 2016 comes to a close, we will honor the gifts of the past year, consciously call forth what we want to create in the coming year, and release anything that stands in the way. Bringing together creative expression and ritual with the gifts of Sound Medicine, participants will be bathed in healing sounds and music designed to facilitate releasing the old and birthing the new, and will be filled with peace, balance, and rejuvenation.


Resolve to Evolve: A Special New Year’s Eve Day Practice at Blue Heron Wellness
10:00 to 12:00 PM
Jumpstart 2017 with a sweet and transformational yoga class to send you on your way to a rockin’ New Year! Enjoy this all-levels class as a celebration of all that 2016 had to offer and all that is yet to come in the New Year. As we leap forward into 2017 brimming with potential, we’ll leave behind what no longer serves us and holds us back. Using this playful practice as a way to set our intentions for 2017, we’ll dream big and yoga even bigger together. We’ll commemorate this transition by enjoying the good company of our dazzling community of fellow yogis and groovin’ to some good tunes, which should send your body into an ecstatic state by the time savasana rolls around. Spend the last morning of 2016 celebrating your body, heart and mind!

New Year’s Eve Retreat: Restore, Relax, and Refresh with Yoga, Deep Relaxation, & Meditation at Blue Heron Wellness

New Year’s Eve is a notorious time to celebrate the close of a year and to contemplate the year ahead. So often, we celebrate the occasion, but we miss taking the time to process and sink in to what it means. The Blue Heron New Year’s Eve Retreat is a time out for you to lay down what you have carried and honor what you have moved through in 2016. It is a time to discover and recognize what is calling for your attention in 2017. The retreat begins with gentle yoga to connect you with your breath and ground you in your body. Movement will be followed by a period of deep relaxation/Yoga Nidra to integrate and process what has come before. A guided meditation will provide the container for you to listen in and to remember what is most important to you. No experience necessary.

Kundalini Yoga New Year’s Eve Celebration at Radiance Yoga

Celebrate New Year’s Eve in a healthy, happy, holy manner with like-minded, conscious revelers! Sujjan Saroop will guide you through Kundalini Yoga kriyas, meditations and mantras intended to connect you with your own excellence. You will reflect on 2016 with attitudes of accomplishment, forgiveness, learning and reverence. You will also project into 2017 with intention and purpose. And, collectively, we will create and jump into a stream of consciousness that will reconnect you with your beauty, your bliss, your humanity, and your divinity. Open to all (no prior Yoga or Kundalini Yoga experience necessary). Bring a pen and paper. Light snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be served.


The Yoga and Physics of Gratitude at Radiance Yoga

Gratitude is an exact energy in physics. It is as demanding as the science of mathematics. Gratitude is, as Rumi says, “ZERO— where the fun begins– everything else is too much counting.” This workshop will offer you very new ways of thinking, concepts you’ve never been taught, and powerful KY Kriyas so you yourself can turn on DNA switches and alter genetic codes within your body.

Join Claudia for her long-standing tradition of welcoming the new year with a bright, energizing and clarifying yoga practice. Begin 2017 in the best way possible with joyful yoga practice to encourage the new possibilities of a new year. This class is suitable for all levels and families are welcome!

New Year’s Day Yoga – A Day of Intention at Beloved Yoga
10:00 AM to 2:30 PM
As we turn the calendars, take a moment to flow through a practice that will invite you to reflect on the year as well as make space for what’s ahead. In true, Jafar style, there will be a few arm balances and an AWESOME Playlist! The afternoon will open up with a Yin practice which will give us time to settle into the sweet spots of our breath, mind and body. Tessa Luther will serenade the practice and lead you through a 20 minute segment on freeing your voice with the art of sound making. The session will end with a contemplative practice to release and then extend an invitation to 2017 in celebration.

New Year’s Day: Intention Through Asana at East Meets West Yoga Center
11:00 to 1:00 PM
Usher in 2017 through a practice of compassion, forgiveness, love, joy and unity. This is the first blank page of the year, make it yours. This mixed level hatha sequence features optional vinyasa flow throughout for those who desire a more physically demanding practice. This practice will close with a guided meditation to seal your personal affirmations for the New Year.

Reflections and Intentions with Sadie at Shaw Yoga
11:00 AM to 12:45 PM
As we look ahead to the coming year, give yourself this time to turn inwards. This workshop begins with 15 minutes of journaling and meditation as a way to reflect on 2016. Then you will bring your mind and body into the present with a 75 minute asana practice. This practice will focus on movement and breath, letting go of the past, remaining unconcerned about the future, and simply moving, breathing and being. Practice will close with 15 minutes of journaling and meditation as a way to set intentions for the new year.

Pure Prana – New Year’s Day Detox
12:15 to 1:30 PM
Join us for a challenging and refreshing asana practice to detoxify your body and energize your system for the new year. This class will focus on twists, abdominal work, back-bending, and breath work. We will also do an intention-setting meditation to help you carve out a fabulous year. You will leave feeling strong, empowered, and renewed! All levels welcome.

Possibility & Gratitude Flow + Restore at Honest Soul Yoga
2:00 to 4:00 PM

Come play with what’s possible for you in this two hour Flow + Restore practice led by Suzie and Tessa. Enjoy an exhilarating flow followed by an hour of deeper restorative poses. Leave feeling ready for the year ahead!

Heart Opening New Year’s Day Flow at Radiance Yoga
2:00 to 4:00 PM

New Year’s is a holiday of celebration, reflection, and renewed commitment to living our lives fully. It is also a time to clarify your intentions for the coming year. This heart opening class is the perfect blend of movement and mindfulness. In this workshop, we will bring in the new year by moving our bodies through an active, core strengthening, vinyasa sequence; open our hearts through a building series of backbends; and focus our minds to create meaningful intentions for the New Year. All levels welcome.


Step Into the New Year with Freedom, Lightness & Ease
3:00 to 5:00 PM
Begin the New Year with deep reflection and an opportunity to put awareness, and knowledge into action that leads to self-transformation. Through our exploration of freedom and bondage through the lens of yoga, we will learn about the use of binds in our asana practice. We will examine more closely our relationship with how we approach our bind. Every opportunity we experience reveals clarity to us on how we treat ourselves and how we move through life with steadiness and ease. This class will include: asana, meditation, and self-reflection exercises.
