In 2019, the World Health Organization reported that almost half of the deaths worldwide can be attributed to so-called “lifestyle diseases” – diseases that are considered preventable by making better lifestyle choices. This is what Yoga and Ayurveda have been emphasizing for thousands of years.

Maryam will expand teachings from her recent book, Care of the Whole Self: Yoga Inspired Practices to Befriend the Self. The focus will be on supporting each participant to incorporate daily yoga-inspired rituals into specific times of day that meet your needs and schedule. The secret of Yoga is in showing up consistently, even if it’s only one minute a day. Maryam will share tools that have been most effective for her clients to show up for themselves daily and with ease!

Ileana will share her Ayurvedic expertise and offer accessibility to this ancient wisdom and its ability to shine a light on the things in our lifestyle that really matter. Ayurveda teaches that anything in our life can become a sacred ritual, or sadhana, and gives a reminder for us to slow down, to stop in the midst of a rushed morning, or at the end of a busy day. Ileana will share tools and recipes to support cultivating routine with joy.

Both Ileana and Maryam are dedicated to inspiring the care for our whole self through rituals. If you are desiring and ready to commit to making small shifts to make a big difference in your well-being, then this is the perfect course for you. Each week, we will provide handouts, experience a yoga practice and offer discussion and reflection.
