INTEGRATE BREATHING TECHNIQUES INTO YOUR YOGA PRACTICE

Do you want to dive more deeply into the ancient yogic practices, to harness the power of the subtle, energetic body? The ancients taught us how we can bring the autonomic nervous system under conscious control. Skillful control of the breath allows the practitioner to regulate the agni (digestive fire), deepen breath capacity, balance cardiac rate, rhythms and blood pressure, manage stress, and stimulate the immune response.

In this workshop, you will learn foundational pranayama practices (breathing techniques). You will also explore how pranayama is integrated into the yoga asana practice for deeper benefits. Learn the tools to gain mastery over the breath, the connection between mind and body, bringing all aspects of our being into balance and harmony. This workshop will be a combination of lecture, seated pranayama and a few simple yoga postures with integrated pranayama.

Some yoga experience is required, though this workshop is open to all levels of ability. Please wear comfortable clothing to easily move around in for the yoga portion of class. Pre-registration is recommended and space is limited.
