Joy!  Jubilation!  Trepidation?

I’m ready to rip off my mask and dance around the room in glee.  Fully vaccinated, no mask required and I can even sit and chat with people again – I’m ready to go.  But I’m seeing others move into it more slowly.  What’s going on? Is your inner peace dependent on being isolated?  Is […]

No More Hiding, Really?

I went inside at Starbucks yesterday without a mask.  Yes, I’m fully vaccinated.  It was the 15th day after my final shot.  I could smile at the barista who took my order.  It was lovely!   And it felt strange.  I’m used to hiding, hiding my face and even hiding in my home.  How long will […]

Priorities!

Now that the world is available to you again, or almost there, what are your priorities?  You gave up so much in the last year, so maybe you want to get it all going again.  Or maybe not.  This last year has changed you.  It’s changed the world we live in and it’s changed you.  […]

So Close, Yet So Far

You know the feeling so well — it’s not time yet.  I felt that way near the end of my senior year in high school, nearly done and yet going to school every morning.  And that ninth month of pregnancy lasts much more than four weeks, right? Here we are again.  They tell us that […]

Yogis Got Gumption

Granted, a pandemic tests you to the limit, but you’re better equipped to handle it than […]

Yogis & Their Amazing Powers

Many Sanskrit texts describe how a yogi can fly, walk on water, disappear and change the weather as part of the classical ashta-siddhis (eight powers).  Making it through a pandemic is minor compared to these world-changing, life-changing abilities.  Yet your ability to make it through, and not merely to survive but to thrive, comes from […]

Pandemic Panic

At least this time, it’s familiar.  You’ve felt this panic before, triggered by the same pandemic, only a few months ago.  Here you are again, though this time you have more skills.  I’ve gotten so accustomed to wearing a mask that I sometimes forget to remove it. Plus now there is more information about the […]

How Are You?  Who Are You?

How are you doing?  How are you feeling?  How are you and who are you?  Yoga is about both, of course.  But when you deepen into your own inner essence, the “how” you are is taken care of automatically by the “who” you are. I was sitting in a chair with my laptop on my […]
