Charm City Studios

A few of our favorites in Baltimore!

Baltimore Yoga Village

The Studio: BYV offers sound healing, meditation weekly, yoga asana, chanting, special needs classes, and even some forms of dance and qigong. Everything is centered around community and joy.

The Owner: Anjali Sunita opened BYV in 2007. Hers was a vision of a multi-faceted community-oriented place where people in Baltimore could meet each other and become like a true village of support to each other while rooting in a likeminded environment where everyone appreciated the healing peace of regular yoga and meditation practice.

What’s Unique: BYV strives to have something for EVERY BODY each day, including $6 community cash-only classes as well as the BYFree program, which provides free wellness services, at several off-site locations in the city.

M·Power Yoga·Barre

The Studio: M·Power’s flagship location is designed to make you feel comfortable and at home from the moment you walk in the door. The studio has spa-like locker rooms, two lounge areas and free Wi-Fi. The main studio features state-of-the-art forced air and radiant heating, hypoallergenic and anti-microbial cork floors, and a mirrored wall.

The Owner: While attending music school in Minneapolis, Jason and Joel Herd were asked to perform during a yoga class. They loved playing for the class so much that they started offering music for yoga classes on a regular basis. In 2014, the brothers fused their love of music and yoga, and opened M·Power Yoga·Bare.

What’s Unique: The music! M·Power has musicians performing live in class on a regular basis to enhance your yoga flow.

Asana Roots

The Studio: This special space is located within the heart of the Arts and Entertainment District. Gorgeous hardwood floors spread out in every direction as the exposed brick walls adds warmth and rustic charm.

The Owner: In 2016 Ari Brasil & Eric Sipes opened Asana Roots. In a short period of time, they have cultivated an incredible community based on the fundamental principle of yoga as a connection between physical movement and mental health.

What’s Unique: Once a month, the studio becomes an art gallery during First Fridays Art Walk! On the first Friday of each month, the community walks the streets and explores galleries and museums in search of the new Baltimore shows and exhibitions. New and experienced artists alike are featured at various businesses, mostly focused in the downtown area, and everyone has a chance to mingle and chat.
